About the Title

Why "Christ on Your Guest List" as a title?

Guest list decisions and final numbers for invitations to the reception were the most contentious issues for our wedding planning. Think how counter-cultural and how eye-opening our experience of "the big day" might be if Christ were first on our guest list and if Christ were our true wedding planner. So often it seems that those involved in wedding planning have such differing priorities. Since priorities among humans are a matter of preference, not a situation of "right" and "wrong," the best and least-threatening perspective is Christ's. His priorities are higher than our priorities. And if those with ears to hear will listen to that message, the wedding industry's culture of perfection will cease its hold on beautiful marriages in the making.
